Staying healthy in our modern world full of pollutants, food additives and assorted other risks is a constant struggle. There are ways to increase one's level of health in a short period. They may not produce Earth-shattering results, but they will be noticeable within about 90 days.
Sleep is the necessary precursor to all other health tips. Without sufficient sleep, we lack the energy to do many of the other things that may improve our health. Numerous studies have found links between insufficient sleep and some serious health problems. These include heart attacks, diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Getting enough sleep improves mood, results in clearer thinking and reduces risk of injury as people are less accident prone when sufficiently rested. The benefits of getting enough sleep should be enough to make anyone turn off that light an hour earlier each night to get those 7 to 8 hours of restful bliss our minds and bodies so desperately need.
Like it or not, the people in a person's environment affect them. Hanging around negative people can drain an individual's energy and put them in a bad mood. It then becomes more difficult to do other things to get healthier. Hanging around people who reaffirm one's goals and objectives in life can be one of the most powerful psychological boosts we can have. We should all try to be such people ourselves. It can be easy to get too negative sometimes but it is important to be on guard against being someone who drags others in their environment down.
It can be difficult to prod oneself on a daily basis to have some minimum recommended daily allowance of fresh fruits and vegetable. However, a minimum of a one piece of fruit a day should be an extremely doable goal. If an individual has not even been sure to have this minimal amount of fruit, it should also noticeably boost one's health in a fairly short time. Of course, for anyone who already has a couple pieces of fruit a day then try doubling this. The main goal should be to increase whatever fruit intake one is currently getting. They don't only taste good, but their health benefits from all the vitamins and minerals they contain are well known.
Many of us are so called “meat and potatoes” eaters when describing the basics we like in our favorite dinner. This can be all right as long as a couple more vegetables are added to the plate. The other important thing is that these vegetables(preferably better than regular potatoes which are very starchy and have low vitamin content) be what is taking up most of the room on the plate. Some of us just don't consider we have eaten dinner until we have had a meal that includes a piece of meat. That is fine for most, but make sure there is a good quantity of a couple varieties of vegetables on that plate as well.
When was the last time anyone saw something healthy in a vending machine? Except for a bottle of water the answer is probably never. Vending machines are full of sugary or salty junk foods that will diminish a person's health. They may be better than starving in a pinch when you don't have time to go out to get something good. One should avoid such situations by always making sure to have a healthier snack on hand. There are fairly healthy energy bar type products that can be conveniently carried in a pocket or purse for just such emergencies.
Of course the most important tip not yet mentioned is exercise. For those who get practically no physical activity, try to walk at least 20 minutes every day. Physical activity is essential to overall health. It is also helpful to get at least some intense exercise about three times a week. This gets the heart rate up and has innumerable health advantages.
There are additional tips to better one's health in 90 days or less, but this is a good start. Drinking plenty of water each day helps stave off dehydration, which can negatively affect one's energy level. Following these tips will have anyone feeling and doing better in their life.
